This week we’ve been at the 10th Child in the City World Conference in Dublin.
The conference, which takes place from 5-7 October, brings together child professionals, policymakers, city planners, academics, urban designers, social workers, teachers, and others, to share ideas and solutions for making our cities truly child-friendly.
As part of the session on “Connecting children’s participation to urban policies”, This Must Be the Place curator, Michaela Freeman, spoke about the project and our ongoing work in Ebbsfleet.
Michaela was joined in Dublin by one of the project’s participants, Precious Othieno, who presented her work, the Hand Print Wall, which was developed through workshops at Ebbsfleet Academy earlier this year.
Precious’ idea was realised at Ebbsfleet Fusion Festival in July, where over 600 local people came and took part, adding their prints to the wall.
You can find out more about their presentation in the conference preview.
